Larry and Marilyn left Munich to visit her cousin in Switzerland. The four of us took a Hop on-Hop off bus tour of the city (Grand ticket, $25 each). We sat on the open top, which was a bit breezy but had a great view. We got off at Nymphenburg Palace (summer home for royalty, very large). We did not take the indoor tour, but instead walked around the grounds and gardens.
The bus also took us past the Olympic Park, and BMW HQ. We got off at Marienplatz and had lunch at a very busy rooftop restaurant. Lots of people in town on this Saturday. We walked through the Church of the Holy Spirit, took the bus back to Karlsplatz, then walked to the train station where we had to find the Co-Vid testing place. Went for a beer at Brauhaus Zeitung next door and ended up staying for dinner. We had a nice waitress and the best spaetzle I've had with roast pork. Kirk had wiener schnitzel. We walked back to the hotel and had a drink before bed. Enjoyed chatting with Thomas again. Gorgeous day, and a great tour of the greater Munich city.
