Alaskan Cruise Day 3- Ketchikan

On Tuesday June 13 we all had a nice breakfast in the main dining room- we didn't have to get off the ship right away so this was great, we avoided the lines of people rushing to get off.  When we did disembark, we walked around Ketchikan, including the shops along Creek Street.
We took the free bus to the Totem Heritage Center. Inside were some very old totems which are being preserved. We also viewed a small cultural museum with many examples of native crafts.

We bought some souvenirs and then were back on ship for lunch at the buffet. We went in the hot tub and pool, then went to Crow's Nest and saw about 7 whales. Dressed for dinner, then enjoyed some drinks and music in Oceans Bar before going to a late (8:00) dinner at Pinnacle Grill, the specialty restaurant. This was a gift from our travel agent, Lakeland Travel.  (They also gave us all a beverage package with 15 drinks per day per person which was awesome!) Kirk had halibut, I had shrimp cocktail, crab legs, and chocolate volcano cake. It was all very nicely presented and tasted good too! It took over 2 hours for dinner. Afterwards we went to see the late show, a comic (Ralph Harris) in the main lounge before bed.
