On Thursday June 15 we docked in Skagway. After breakfast in the Lido buffet we got off the ship around 10 (not so packed this time) and took the shuttle bus to the north end of town. We looked through the local museum, which was very well done and interesting. In the 1840's Skagway was a stop for the miners on the way to the gold fields in the Yukon.

After lunch at the
Red Onion saloon (a good collection of chamber pots on the walls!) we boarded the afternoon 3 hour
White Pass and Yukon Railroad which goes to White Pass in Canada and back. There weren't many people on the train, and our conductor was very funny and attentive. The guys spent a lot of time hanging out between cars and taking pictures. The scenery was gorgeous and the ride relaxing, except for the steep gorges that Kathy wasn't too fond of!
The train dropped us off at the cruise ship. We had dinner in the Main dining room (beef tenderloin, seafood deviled eggs, French onion soup- yum!) Then we listened to Andrew at the piano bar after the magic show in the main lounge. Another busy day, what a life! Tip: take the afternoon train trip for fewer passengers and no need to get off the ship right away in the morning with the crowds!
